Back Pain - Rib Out of Alignment

Back rib pain can be one of the most uncomfortable issues. Maybe I should say that you'd be lucky if your pain were only uncomfortable, a rib out can really hurt. It can be in the middle of your back, or it can be in the ribcage in front. It's not the spine, the pain is no where near it. Maybe it's a cough pain that really hurts when you sneeze. And, what is this deep breath pain about?

Whatever it is, you want to know what it is and how to deal with it.

Most likely, it's a rib subluxation -- a rib out of alignment.

Back Pain - Rib Out of Alignment

A rib out of alignment is actually a fairly common occurrence. It's just that they usually go back into place on their own without you ever knowing that anything ever happened. Having a rib out that doesn't go back causes the muscles to tense up giving you your brand new back pain in the rib.

The ribs have joints where they connect with the sternum in front, and with the vertebra in back. They can shift up or down, though they have a usual pattern. It's when they get stuck that you have a rib misalignment that ends up causing pain.

You have a couple of options. One is that you can go to a chiropractor and have it put back into place. One issue people have with this is the cost involved. Another issue can be the pain a forceful adjustment can cause.

That pain can be avoided in most cases if you can find an activator chiropractor. An activator is a tool that knocks the joint back into place, usually painlessly. But, that still costs money.

Another option is that you could live with it until the muscles finally relax and the rib goes back into place naturally.

A massage therapist can sometimes get the muscles to relax enough that a gentle push will move the rib back. This isn't hard, but they would have to know how to do it. Or, if they help it relax enough it might go back on its own like it might usually do, but then there's that money issue again.

A final option is to put it back yourself. This really isn't that hard to do, but it does take knowledge. You can figure it out for yourself, others have. The best thing about that is that you can always avoid the cost of an adjustment. And, the method of putting it back yourself is very gentle and doesn't involve a crack at all.

So, if you have a rib out of alignment, let's see what can be done about that cough pain!

The method of adjusting yourself is called self-adjusting-technique. But first, let me be honest with you. For many people, adjusting the ribs takes time to learn. But, the good news is that there is a video available on how someone can do the adjustment on you. It's still very gentle, and it works really well.

There's also videos that show how to do the techniques on yourself. They'll be up soon, and you'll get access to all these videos once you buy the book and they are available. And, you won't have to pay the higher rate that will be charged once all the videos are available. It'll be a package deal that you'll get ahead of time. (I apologize if you're reading this article and the price has gone up already. You can contact me and see if there's something we can work out, like just getting access to the video.)

It gives a lot of information about back pain and what can be done about it. There are also some very helpful emails that come after you sign up. And, you don't have to worry about spam, everything is fully compliant with the anti-spam laws.

Also, I am available via email. You can send me one now, I usually answer within a day or two. The free book comes with my email address, or check my blog.

Talk to a Stranger in Live Chat

What is Omegle?

Omegle is a brand new service on the internet for you to meet new and possibly old friends. When you use Omegle, the system will randomly select a person for you to speak with. This of course, will be a stranger. The chats are also anonymous so no one knows who is talking to whom.

How does it work?

Talk to a Stranger in Live Chat

You go to the Omegle website at Omegle and there you will be asked if you want to chat with a stranger by pressing the start to chat button. Almost immediately, you will find yourself connected to a stranger. Now you can chat away with different people and disconnect anytime you don't want to chat with a particular stranger anymore. The system will pair two people randomly for one-on-one private chatting. The site uses the two handles, 'stranger' and 'you' to connect people. It is a very simple system and very easy to use, no matter what your level of Internet experience may be.

History and Usage

When this service was launched, it generated about 100 users. Now at last report, (as of the month of April) the amount of people online at any time was reaching more or less around 3000. The report also states that the site is getting around 150,000 hits a day. The system mandates that you use certain chat names, which are "you" and "stranger." The site has an oddly chipper slogan that says, "Talk to strangers." The site also uses such phrases as 'your conversational partner has disconnected' at the end of every chat. These unique and unusual phrases seem to make the site more popular.

The concept of an anonymous chat is not the first chat that was created with Omegle. There have been comparisons made back to the early 1990s. It is said to have similarities to a web site called 'A Nice Chat,' which was created before Omegle. There is the difference that in 'A Nice Chat' the users were prompted to use a nickname that others would see. While in Omegle users are just known by "you" and "stranger" making it more clear that the conversation is anonymous.

At this time, there is no age limit or other limitations applied to anyone who wants to use the site. The site does not appear to block any profanity or spam bots with any filters. There are no charges, no fees, and no contact to use the site. There is also no registering and no need to create an account. The website is free to use.

Who uses Omegle?

All sorts of users use the site. Although it seems that, there are more teenagers but that is just a guess of the users that patronize the website. Some people have reported visitors from around the world and people of many different age ranges.

Omegle is a website that is used to communicate with anonymously and randomly picked people across the internet via a chat room. Leif K-Brooks of Vermont was the creator of this site. He launched the site in March of 2009. K-Brooks hope in creating this site was to provide an alternative way for people to connect in a non-threatening anonymous manner. He felt that too many people had become stagnant in the way they met people. K-Brooks thinks that people often seek out like-minded individuals who have the same goals and ideas. By mixing things up a little, people can meet other individuals who may have different ideas or different ways of looking at things. Variety can make a great difference in everyone's life. Check out Omegle and see what you think.

How To Set Up An Outlook Express Filter

When I began my anti spam crusade, I had assumed that most people online could competently do things such as set up a spam filter in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. It turns out this is not so, the fear of making adjustment to the default settings getting the better of quite a majority of the population, or else just never having the time or inclination to get in and figure it out.

Luckily it is quite an easy process, and even the most computer-ese challenged amongst us can get it done easily once we understand how to it works. In this little how-to I am going to give an example how to set up a filter using Outlook Express, purely on the basis that this is the program open on my desktop as I type this.

There are two parts to a filter - a condition, and an action. The condition defines the set of circumstances that will trigger the action. The action is of course what happens when the circumstances described in the condition are true.

How To Set Up An Outlook Express Filter

The example I will use here is to delete messages with [SPAM] in the title. My ISP once went through a rather silly phase of not deleting spam - but marking it in the header and leaving the deletions to us. It seems they too had made an assumption that all their customers could set up a filter to handle the hundreds of [SPAM] marked messages they suddenly started receiving. They were quickly put right but overloaded switchboards.

So we are going to create a simple filter in Outlook Express that deletes everything with [SPAM] in the title.

Step 1: Click on the menu Item Tools. Point at Message Rules and select(click on) mail...
A small new window will open with the heading Message Rules and three tabs. The Mail... tab will be selected.

Step 2: Click on the New... button.
Another new window opens with the titlebar New Mail Rule. There are 4 boxes to fill in.

Step 3: In the first white box Click in the square beside "Where the Subject line contains specific word".
A tick will appear in the box. You will notice the 3rd box gets some more writing in it, we will deal with that soon.

Step 4: In the second white box click in the square next to Delete It.
A tick will appear in the box. The text in the third white box will now read: Apply this rule after the message arrives, Where the Subject line contains specific words, Delete it. The words 'contains specific words will be blue and underlined.

Step 5: In the third white box click on the blue underlined words 'contains specific words'.
A new window will open with the title bar Type Specific Words.

Step 6: In the first box in this window type [SPAM]. Click Add. Click Okay.
You will be returned to the previous window. The third box will now contain the text: Apply this rule after the message arrives Where the Subject line contains '[SPAM]' Delete it

Step 7: In the fourth Box type a userfriendly name for your spam filter. I use "Delete [SPAM] rule". Click the OK button.
After clicking okay you are taken back to the message rules window. Click OK here and your filter is added. Well Done.

As far as I am aware there is no limit to the number of filters you can apply. The important thing to remember is that the filter doesn't discriminate. If the result returns true then the action (Deleting in this case) will be applied.

Happy filtering.

COPD And Life Expectancy

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD is a disease that causes destruction of airways in the lungs. In the United States, it's the fourth highest cause of death. Every year, more than 85,000 people die from COPD.

In most of cases, the root cause for COPD is smoking or consumption of tobacco. Naturally, COPD causes a number of health problems and reduces the life expectancy of those who suffer from it. If detected and treated early, life expectancy can be greatly increased, and if smoking is stopped immediately, lung has the capacity to recover dramatically. This, in turn, increases the life expectancy.

In cases where the intensity of COPD has developed beyond the initial stages, giving up smoking alone may not help increase life expectancy. In such cases, oxygen therapy is given and the patient must inhale oxygen through a mask or nasal cannulae placed beneath his nostrils. The patient needs to purchase oxygen tanks for home use, or portable versions for travel. Nowadays, oxygen concentrator machines that use air to produce oxygen are effective replacements for traditional oxygen tanks.

COPD And Life Expectancy

In many cases, when COPD is in its final stages, even oxygen therapy may not help the patient. In such cases transplantation of the lungs may be the only way of increasing life expectancy. Transplantation is suggested to those patients whose life expectancy is felt to be less than two to three years. However, at this stage, there is no average to determine the life expectancy of a patient.

If COPD is detected in a person, giving up smoking is the best way to increase life expectancy. Other treatments like oxygen therapy, exercise and transplantation will also help, but you cannot fight COPD unless you quit smoking.

The Top Twelve Threats No Computer User Should Ignore

The internet is undoubtedly a fantastic resource for families and offers a rich vein of educational content.

However, there are potential dangers - welcome to the seedy world of viruses, spam, trojans, pornography, spyware and other nasties.

These are the Top Twelve Threats No Computer User Should Ignore.

The Top Twelve Threats No Computer User Should Ignore

1. Viruses - A computer program that copies itself. They often disrupt your computer system or damage your data. Viruses are usually received by email attachments so be careful opening anything from a dubious source. They can affect anyone, for example, the destructive Mydoom worm affected one out of three small and mid-sized businesses.

2. Spyware - Sends information about you and your computer to somebody else. Spyware may send the addresses of sites you have visited or worse still, transmit personal information. With today's concerns about identify theft this is a real worry. For example, CoolWebSearch may hijack web searches, home page, and other Internet Explorer settings. Spyware is normally received as part of shareware or freeware downloaded from the web.

3. IP Spoofing - A technique to gain unauthorized access to computers, whereby the intruder sends messages to a computer with an address indicating that the message is coming from a trusted host.

4. Trojans - An apparently legitimate computer program that is really intended to disrupt and damage computer activity by sending information, perhaps even passwords onto a third party without you knowing. As an example, recent emails entitled "Osama Bin Laden Captured" attempted to download the "Trj/Small.B." Trojan if the embedded URL was clicked. This trojan attempts to hijack the PC.

5. Spam - Unsolicited mail often promoting products of a dubious financial or sexual nature. Don't leave your email address on websites and internet bulletin boards as they are harvested by spammers.

6. Adware - puts advertisements on your screen. These take many forms including popups, popunders and advertisements that appear later, even if your browser is closed. Some are sent using the Windows Messenger service which allows a spammer to direct an advertisement straight to your computer by sequentially sending messages to IP addresses. Always irritating, they are also often of a pornographic nature.

7. Diallers - for those of us still with dial up modems, dialler programs redirect calls to a very expensive number. You won't know until you get the bill.

8. Hijackers - Hijackers take control of your web browser and may reset your home page, search bar and search pages. They can redirect you to undesirable sites or stop you going to particular sites.

9. Hackers - With so much personal data available online to anyone with a password you must be sure your password is secure. If you are using your mother's maiden name, your cat's name or your birthday then your password is at risk. Here are two tips for making a secure password. Method One - pick two random unrelated three letter words and two digits. Mix them up and what do you have? A secure password such as "red19cat" or "hotpin73". Method Two - pick a short sequence of words such as Now Is The Winter Of Our Discontent Made Glorious' and you have a password of "nitwoodmg". You could even change the I's and O's to digits.

10. Phishing - Emails purporting to come from reliable sources such as Paypal, eBay or your bank. Often wanting you to verify your account details, they can look very realistic but are generally scams to harvest usernames and passwords. Always open a new browser winder and type the address there, rather than clicking on the link provided.

11. Hoaxes - Chain letters, scams, false alarms. At best they take up time and bandwidth but at worst vulnerable can be victims of fraud. Pass it on!

12. Stranger-danger - For those of us with children - do you know what they actually do when they are online? Are they working on homework tasks, downloading illegal music or pornography? Or are they chatting to strangers in chat rooms? You should consider blocking access to undesirable sites and logging their activity with a surveillance tool. Oh, and don't forget that where children are concerned, computers should always be kept in a family room and never in their bedroom.

Three Step Action Plan

There are three basic, essential steps that should be taken to ensure your PC is kept threat-free.

Firstly , be sensible when opening attachments or following email instructions from apparently reputable sites.

Secondly , make sure you are using the latest service pack of Windows as Microsoft is continually closing loopholes to tighten up security.

Finally, there's a range of low cost tools such as firewalls, antivirus, spam blockers and spyware killers available. Like everything else they vary in quality and you tend to get what you pay for so always do your research first and perhaps try a free trial before getting your credit card out.

Software Programs Every Laptop Should Have

We know that laptop computers are portable, convenient, and very necessary in today's fast-paced world. A laptop gives its owner a renewed sense of freedom and capability. With a strong wireless Internet connection, business may be conducted from anywhere in the world. Cubicle walls expand to reveal wide open spaces, where people may communicate, shop, and accomplishment countless tasks.

Choosing the right laptop to suit your needs may take time and research, but one thing is for certain: all laptop owners should have the basic programs installed to get through daily life and work. Whether you are a writer, a computer programmer, a businessman, or work at home, these four programs are irreplaceable and versatile. Each should have a shortcut icon right on your startup screen.

Let's take a look at what you need:

Software Programs Every Laptop Should Have

Word Processing Program

You don't have to be a student to need a good word processing program. Can you think of a day where you haven't written anything? Even for a one-page note, it is hand to have a word processing program installed to suit your needs.

These days, many computers come equipped with such software, though what is included may not necessarily meet your requirements. While all programs allow you to type, save, edit and print with ease, some programs go the extra mile and allow you to enhance presentations with embedded imagery, video, and font manipulation. Microsoft Word, as part of the Office Suite, lets you these things and more. A simpler program will limit the boundaries.

As you shop for your next laptop, consider what word processing packages are included, and determine if you need an upgrade.

Accounting Software

Whether you use the laptop primarily for business or household purposes, a good accounting program can serve as a solid backup for your traditional system of bookkeeping. Using accounting software to keep track of your income, bills and other expenditures is a good way to maintain organized focus throughout the year. You condition yourself to keep better track of your finances, and should you lose any paper you have that backup to consult onscreen.

Quickbooks is one example of such a program, and offers various features for whatever organizational purposes you seek. If the laptop you buy does not include accounting software, consider looking for some.

Electronic Book/Document Reader

Electronic book, or e-book, technology has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few years. With the Gutenburg project, students and other avid readers have access to thousands of classic and academic texts, and third-party retailers like Fictionwise and Amazon.com offer instant downloads of electronic novels for sale. With a laptop, you can shop for a book, purchase and download, and read it instantly. You don't even have to be in a bookstore!

That said, with certain e-book formats you will need specific readers. A PDF document will not open in a word processing program, and an e-book formatted for the Microsoft Reader will not open in Adobe Reader. Therefore, it is wise to keep such programs on hand in the event you need or want to read a book from your screen. The best thing about such programs is that they are offered for free by their respective companies. A quick Internet search will lead you in the right direction.

Security Software

No laptop is complete without a strong security program. As viruses and spyware become more prevalent and more sophisticated, the need to protect your computer is very important. Especially if you are a frequent user, you would be best suited to a program that offers anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall capabilities. Options to filter junk mail and prevent annoying pop-up advertisements is also a plus.

Not every computer system will offer such protection, so be sure to consult with a sales person before buying. Make sure your security programs are updated often to combat new issues.

From composing mail to battling SPAM, your laptop should be ready to do everything you need. Take care when shopping and don't forget these essentials when you are ready to work.

Configuring Your Exchange Server to Filter Spam

Unsolicited junk e-mail or spam is an unfortunate reality that comes with the use of internet although web users are affected by it in different degrees. At times it becomes difficult for e-mail account holders to distinguish between genuine messages and spam and this makes it a constant bother to many individuals as well as business enterprises. There are several programs that have been created to block out spam from e-mail inboxes and among the main components to aid this process is what is known as a spam blocker or Exchange spam filter, which is installed within exchange servers. A spam filter for Exchange Server is capable of scanning messages that have spam keywords and spam headers. After the spam messages have been identified, the Exchange spam filter server will inform the user which mails have been treated as spam. This will significantly reduce the chances of attacks from viruses and malware.

There is an option of setting the server to block out blank senders; however this is not advised because some important documents such as read receipts do not have sender fields. The filtering process can be done without the sender knowing and this is advised because it can significantly reduce the server load. Most exchange servers have an inbuilt ORFilter or Open Relay Filter as well as a Realtime Blackhole List or RBL capability, which means that there will not be any need for any third party software for filtering spam.

The initial process is to go to the delivery settings for messages and clicking on 'new' so as to add another connection filter. From here, the preferred Realtime Blackhole selection will be chosen and the OK button clicked. There are some exceptions to these specifications that can be chosen by clicking on exceptions and filling in the desirable settings. There will be a warning pop out stating that a SMTP virtual server will need to be enabled for the process of filtering. One will have to go to SMTP virtual server properties and click on 'edit'. The checkbox with 'Apply Connection Filter' should be checked. After clicking OK, exit completely.

Configuring Your Exchange Server to Filter Spam

There may be a need for third party spam filter software applications; however they are quite costly meaning that small enterprises and individuals will find it difficult to invest in it. In most cases though, the Exchange spam filter embedded within the exchange server is enough to block out most of the threats from spam. There is an option that can be used to store junk mail and its configuration may be done by defining a particular threshold that is based upon the SCL rating. By doing this, the system will be able to distinguish whether a message is to be put into the inbox or in a folder for junk e-mail.

The Exchange spam filter within the exchange server makes use of several combinations that are supposed to decipher the composition of messages and identify whether they are spam. It is for this reason that the configuration should be appropriately done to ensure that the spam filter within Exchange will be able to effectively carry out all the necessary procedures to keep out unsolicited e-mails. Users, who want to control or avoid spam mail, will have a better alternative by using the Exchange filter for spam emails.

Unfortunately spam is becoming more and more popular and now more than ever having a good exchange spam filter is of the utmost importance. A proper exchange spam filter is useful not only to minimize the amount of spam that gets to your mailbox but enables systems administrators to focus their attention on more important tasks rather then running around after spam.

Features and Benefits of Spam Filter

The ideal anti-spam software is the one that ensures you your privacy and blocks 100 percent of the emails you do not want to receive. But it is never going to be possible. Spammers are always inventing new techniques to trick the filters, and the developers of anti-spam software try not to overlook it.

Most anti-spam programs can be customized to your needs, and only the approved emails come into your inbox. Let's look at the features and benefits of anti-spam software.

Deleting spam before it reaches the inbox. Certain anti-spam solutions take the decision about spam messages not only based on the sender's email address, they also analyze the subject lines and the message content. Some anti-spam programs allow you block emails with various types of attachments. Most anti-spam solutions catch and delete detected spam emails before they slip into your inbox.

Features and Benefits of Spam Filter

Filter updates. Most programs for filtering spam come with hundreds of filters built in. In addition, the developers of those programs release new anti-spam filters regularly. This ensures that your anti-spam software is always up-to-date.

Custom filters. Certain anti-spam filters allow you tailor built in filters to your personal needs as well as create your own filters, depending on the spam and legitimate emails you receive.

Quarantining spam. Spam blockers prevent junk emails from entering your inbox and move them to a specific quarantine or trash folder. Quarantined emails are stored there for a number of days and then deleted forever. This delay allows you review deleted emails to check if all of them are spam.

Recovering emails. Certain anti-spam filters store quarantined emails for a fixed number of days in the specific trash folder and allow you to recover any email.

Your personal whitelist and blacklist. You can maintain your own lists of trusted email senders (whitelist) and suspicious email addresses, from which you are used to receive spam (blacklist). You can always update your whitelist and blacklist as you want.

Monitoring multiple email accounts. This feature allows you monitor and filter your email from multiple email accounts. You to filter your home email from the office, and vice versa.

Automatic mode. Certain anti-spam programs can check inbound mail at fixed time intervals and delete spam without your participation.
